In it's original colour of Opalescent Golden Sand with red leather, this car started life as a relatively tame 2.4 litre. The Jag was bought in 1976 by the gentleman I purchased the car from recently. He sold the car (to Coopercraft of Exeter) in 1995, eventually buying it back in 2019. This gentleman used to race MkII's in the 1980's and when fitting a 3.8 unit to a race car in 1984, he took out the 3.4 unit from the donor car, rebuilt it and fitted it to 453 VAE.

Subsequent improvements were made and a stainless racing exhaust was fitted a few years later. Upon buying the car back in 2019 the suspension, cooling, brakes, interior were rebuilt / refurbished and power steering added.

The history file contains various receipts, old MOT's and, amazingly, a book detailing all the work carried out to it between 1976 and 1995 (and the recent work), which makes for interesting reading.
